Hermenegildo Sabat is the new Honorary President of World Press Cartoon
The World Press Cartoon had the privilege of being able to count on David Levine as Honorary President during the first years of its existence. Master Levine left us in December of 2009, in a moment that the World Press Cartoon had already been internationally agknowledged as a reference Salon in the area of humor drawing in the press. David Levine leaves us therefore with the great responsibility of continuing to guarantee the quality and the global dimension of an event to which he leaves his name associated, and that he so generously supported. We could not find someone better to succeed David Levine than Master Hermenegildo Sabat. Sabat is with the World Press Cartoon since hour one. He was member of our first jury, in 2005, and contributes to the growth of our organization with his advices, his experience, and his presence in decisive moments. The work published and the international prestige of Master Sabat are eloquent as regards to the artistic and human dimension of the new World Press Cartoon’s Honorary President. We will honor this new privilege by continuing our work to make the World Press Cartoon the global event where authors of all continents, of all cultures and of all sensibilities can compete for awards that distinguish the talent, the creativity and the courage of getting us to observe, with a smile, the facts and the protagonists that day by day give life to newspapers all over the world.
